Coach Fischer graduated from Falconer High School in 1981, before returning to his alma mater as assistant coach under Bill Race
for six years.  During that time he saw action at the junior high, junior varsity, and varsity levels.

In 1992, he took over the head coaching position at Maple Grove and during his tenure here, he has led the Red Dragons to 12
Division Titles, 4 Section Six Championships, 2 Far West Regional Championships and 2 State Championships.  

He was voted Small School WNY Coach of the Year for four years, and was Post Journal Coach of the Year for four years straight.  
In 1998, Fischer received the honor of New York State Coach of the Year, as well as being named 2006 Buffalo Bills Coach of the
Week.  Following Curt’s second NY State Championship in 2008, he was named Buffalo Bills High School Coach of the Year and
New York State High School Football Coaches Association (NYSHSFCA)  Coach of the Year.  

Fischer is also head coach of the Maple Grove Boy’s Basketball team.  In 2008, 2009, and 2010 he led the team to the State Final
Four, clinching championships in '08 and '10.  Under his direction, the Red Dragons Boys Basketball has won 6 Division Titles, 6
Section Six Championships, and 3 Far West Regional Championships.  Fischer has also been past coach of both the boy’s varsity
baseball and girl’s varsity softball teams at Maple Grove.

He and his wife Lori live in Bemus Point with son Zach and daughter Megan.  They are also the parents of two adult sons, Justin
and Randy.
Marcus Clark
Junior Varsity Coach

Coach Clark is the head coach for the junior varsity team.

He is a graduate of Shawnee High School in Lima, Ohio and the Ohio State University.  Prior to his tenure at Maple Grove, he
coached the freshman football team for four years at Columbus Bishop Watterson School.  He also worked for eight years as a
supervisor for UPS.

Clark is a technology teacher at Maple Grove High School and is the coach for their modified wrestling team and junior varsity
track team.  He also coached the varsity wrestling team for eight years.

Coach Clark and his wife Shanda have two children, Bryan and Hayley.

Dave Emley
Varsity Defensive Coach

Coach Emley became Maple Grove Football's Defensive Coach in 2009.  

He is a graduate of Cortland State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Physical Education.  He received a Masters Degree in
Special Education from Edinboro University.  David teaches Jr-Sr High Science at the Randolph Academy.   

Coach Emley has 24 years of coaching experience in a wide variety of both girls and boys sports.  He has 20 years coaching
experience in Varsity Football.

Coach Emley and his wife Susan are the proud parents of four children: Aaron, Nick,  Kevin and Tracy Jo.  He lives and works in
Randolph, New York.
Randy Apperson
Team Medic; Equipment Manager

For over 9 years, Randy Apperson has been dedicated to the Maple Grove Football program and is essential to our success.  He
generously volunteers his time as is the team medic and equip manager.

He  is a graduate of Jamestown High School and Jamestown Community College.

"App"  has been in the fire/rescue service since 1985 and is currently an active member of the Bemus Point Fire Department.  He
is a certified NYS Emergency Medical Technician and has taken numerous courses of instruction addressing sports injuries and
treatments.

He resides in Bemus Point with his wife Julie.  They have three children; Andrew, Madeline and Mallory -- all graduates of Maple
Grove and integral members of Red Dragon athletic teams.
Justin Hanft
Assistant Coach, Varsity Offense & Junior Varsity Assistant.

Coach Hanft joined the Red Dragons in 2011, assisting with the Varsity offense and the Junior Varsity program.  He is a Maple
Grove graduate and played offensive and defensive line for the Red Dragons ('03 team.)

He is a graduate of Alfred University, playing three years as right tackle for AU, earning E8 Conference honors, before joining
Alfred's coaching staff for three years -- helping the Saxons to two consecutive NCAA Division III Playoff berths and a 2011
season finish as one of the top 8 teams in the country.  Coaching running backs, Coach Hanft managed the 8th leading D3
rusher in the U.S in 2010, and in 2011, coached a tailback who broke AU's single season rushing record in his freshman year.

Coach Hanft and his fiance Molly will be married in September and reside in Jamestown with their daughter Madison.
